The 2025 models are slowly but surely hitting the market, and now it’s time for the Volkswagen Taos to make its appearance. We’ve already known for a few weeks what the small SUV from the German automaker would look like for the next model year, but we didn’t yet know its price range.
The 2025 model gets a significant aesthetic update along with some new features. It has a more serious appearance with modernized lighting both at the front and rear. The 2025 Volkswagen Taos also debuts a new color called Serrano Green, which was showcased on the new body. Let me tell you, this small SUV from the German automaker is sure to turn heads.
The interior remains simple and elegant, with a high-quality finish, which was already a strong point in the Taos. However, engineers took the opportunity to redesign the cargo space layout to maximize it—great news for small families who don’t necessarily want a bulkier SUV.
More Dynamic Performance
The improvements for 2025 aren’t limited to aesthetics, as the powertrain of the small German SUV has also been updated. The 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine now delivers 174 horsepower, 16 more than before. It may not sound particularly impressive, but it’s the kind of detail that can make all the difference. Additionally, the 7-speed automatic transmission has been replaced with an 8-speed automatic for all-wheel-drive versions.
Higher Price
As expected, the price of the 2025 Volkswagen Taos has increased significantly. The base price for the small German SUV now starts at $31,795, which is $2,000 more than last year for the Trendline version. The Comfortline version begins at $35,295, an increase of $1,300. Finally, it will cost $1,000 more for the Highline version, which now starts at $38,995. While the price is higher for all versions, the model also offers more than ever. In my opinion, the Taos’ value-for-money remains highly competitive, even with this price hike.
The first units of the 2025 Volkswagen Taos are expected to arrive at dealerships by the end of the year.
